Platinum Jewelry

Platinum has an atomic number of 78 and a chemical symbol of PT. Platinum’s name is derived from a Spanish word Platina which means little silver. Platinum is the most ductile metal of the metal family i.e. Gold, Silver, Copper. Platinum is a malleable, ductile, gray white precious metal. It has 6 natural occurring isotopes. Platinum is one of the earth’s rarest elements in its crust. Platinum is a rare metal but still used in a lot of vehicle catalytic converter to help with vehicle emissions. Of the 245 tons of Platinum mined in 2010 113 tons where used in vehicle emission control devices. Platinum has been used in many other things from engine parts to oxygen sensors.

When getting engaged to be married and you head into a jewelry store there are many different Platinum jewelry options to choose from. Platinum jewelry makes a bolder statement then the more traditional gold. Platinum jewelry is far less common due to platinum prices and the scarcity of platinum itself. There are many jewelers who make platinum jewelry. To find stores that handle platinum jewelry you can do a web search rather then go jewelry store to jewelry store on foot. If white metals are your choice you can choose between white gold, platinum and palladium. Palladium is rarely used in jewelry and involves some work to find. White gold will hold its shine longer then platinum due to the fact it is much harder. Keep in mind that platinum and gold in there pure states are soft enough to scratch with your fingernail.

It’s only through the alloying process that gold and platinum are hardened. White gold though essentially is yellow gold mixed with nickel and silver to achieve that white finish and usually rhodium plated to get rid of the slight yellow that all white gold inevitably has and will become more prevalent when the rhodium plating wears off. There are far more designs today with platinum jewelry then in years past. Jewelry repair involving Platinum requires a higher skill level and hotter torch temperatures than gold repairs. Platinum jewelry will cost more to fix or rework but in the end if a true white metal is what you desire then platinum jewelry will be the best option for you. In current markets as of this article platinum and gold are not to far off from one another as they have been in the past.

Really cool cats over at Nevada Coin and Jewelry. You would’ve thought that I was “Madonna” the way those guys treated me. I was so mesmerized by all of the antiques, they have in there, I believe I was there for two hours, just looking, unbelieveable! When I went in I was so hot, they offered me a cold bottle of water, how cool is that? It felt like home to me. I wanted to get a price for some old jewelry that was passed down by grandma, I was well satisfied. When I left the shop, I was singing “Money, Money, Money.

Great family run store. I’m well taken care of every time I show up at this location. Thank you Nick.

What friendly staff. They help you sell your items even if they don’t have a use for it by calling other shops around the area to see if they could use it… They want you to have the best out come from selling your items. I was so happy I decided to go to them!

What inspired me to go to NV Coin and Jewelry was I was an ad on the TV for the shop. I was not too sure about going to NV Coin and Jewelry to sell my jewelry because I have been to many other pawn shops but haven’t found a good deal for my jewelry. After I went to Nevada Coin and Jewelry it was a big relief for me selling my jewelry for a good price.

I brought them some gold pendants, rings and a few other pieces. I knew they weren’t worth that much but I needed the cash. The guys (and there are a lot of them) were really nice and not the least bit condescending. They know when you come in to sell there is a reason but they don’t make you feel bad or inadequate. The store is filled with interesting objects for sale and for show. A very nice and very fair place to buy and sell. I highly recommend them.

The staff are quick at work but not too quick to make you feel pressured into buying items or selling your items. They teach you about the items and tell you if they have use for your items or not. If they don’t have use for your items they call other places to see if they have a use for the items. Great staff!

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to meet the owner and team at Nevada Coin and Jewelry. I didn’t know what to expect but they made me feel both comfortable and safe. I went through my collection of jewelry, both broken pieces and things I thought were of no value at all. They took the time to explain what each carat weight was worth and they helped me sort through my items. I was amazed at what they gave me for things I would never wear or use. I would recommend you stop in and speak to them, you might be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

Wonderful experience, Nick and Laura made it seamless and stress free. Thank you! They also sell super cool items!!

Been living in Vegas for many years and never had to sell or hock any of my items unfortunately as luck would have it that day did eventually find me and let me tell you is it a tough racket to find a decent place out here to do business with. Pawn shops are a joke and could care less about their customers and treated me like another number. Tried and tried and place after place the numbers where all over the place. Finally decided to go to these guys and I’m glad I did. They tested each piece of my jewelry right in from of me with some kind of xray machine. They explained how they calculated the price and paid me cash on the spot. Avery was very helpful and didn’t mind answering my questions and explaining what they do. I left feeling I got the best price for my items. I would recommend them to anyone looking to sell their jewelry.

My wife cashed in some coins and we got top dollar. We have sold to others before but no more, we found a real professional store in Nevada Coin & Jewelry. “Thank You”

Steve
