Silver Dollar Coin

The silver dollar coin has been produced in the United States almost since the beginning of this nation. Production began on the first silver dollar coin, the “Flowing Hair” dollar in 1794 and since then has seen quite a few makeovers. Next in line of the silver dollar coin series in the U.S. is the “Draped Bust” dollar. With two types of reverses, the Draped Bust silver dollar coin, as well as the Flowing Hair silver dollar coin, are two of the most sought after United States coins in all of numismatics.

The 1804 Draped Bust silver dollar coin is one of the rarest and most valuable coins in the world today. The United States then discontinued production of the silver dollar coin until the Gobrecht silver dollar coin brought the series back into production in the 1830’s. Although this variety of the silver dollar coin was in production for just a few years, it rekindled merchants interest in the ease and efficiency of using the silver dollar coin for transactions of the day. The “Seated Liberty” silver dollar coin followed the Gobrecht silver dollar coin and became a staple to business and investment practices for several decades in the 19th century. After congress neglected to pass legislation required to keep up production of the Seated Liberty silver dollar coin, the “Trade Dollar” silver dollar came into production and was mainly used overseas to facilitate trade and assert U.S. influence in Asia and other Pacific and Indian ocean areas as many nations in this region of the world were emerging as powerful trade partners to the United States.

A few short years after the Seated Liberty silver dollar coin was discontinued, congress passed legislation enabling mints to begin production on the “Morgan” silver dollar coin, thus providing a stable source of coinage to help in the expansion of the western United States. The Morgan silver dollar coin, after being produced for a time period spanning close to 50 years, gave way to the final business strike type of silver dollar coin the the United States would release to the public. The “Peace” silver dollar coin lasted for just 14 years in production, but made quite an impact on the coin collecting world for decades to come. The silver dollar coin of the United States has now become a staple in every coin collection and is still sought after by professional numismatists and novice coin collectors the world over.

A great selection of coins and other numismatic related material. Very professional.

My wife cashed in some coins and we got top dollar. We have sold to others before but no more, we found a real professional store in Nevada Coin & Jewelry. “Thank You”

My friend and I came here to sell some coins and jewelry. We first saw Scott about some coins. He was very friendly and knew his stuff. Afterwards, he brought us over to Sheila who looked at our jewelry. She was also very nice and professional. We will definitely come back here again. GREAT PLACE!!!!

Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive. Building had great security to helped me feel safe in handling my items.

Wonderful experience, Nick and Laura made it seamless and stress free. Thank you! They also sell super cool items!!

The staff are quick at work but not too quick to make you feel pressured into buying items or selling your items. They teach you about the items and tell you if they have use for your items or not. If they don’t have use for your items they call other places to see if they have a use for the items. Great staff!

We were really pleased with the help that AJ gave us concering our gold coins and watches. I don’t think we could have received a better deal anywhere. All of the personnel at Nevada Coin & Jewelry were very professional. We will recommend them to our friends.

Really cool cats over at Nevada Coin and Jewelry. You would’ve thought that I was “Madonna” the way those guys treated me. I was so mesmerized by all of the antiques, they have in there, I believe I was there for two hours, just looking, unbelieveable! When I went in I was so hot, they offered me a cold bottle of water, how cool is that? It felt like home to me. I wanted to get a price for some old jewelry that was passed down by grandma, I was well satisfied. When I left the shop, I was singing “Money, Money, Money.

Doris

This dealer was beyond excellent in all respects! No low-ball games, no fooling around. These people are honest, and the transaction was handled smoothly with complete transparency. I will definitely recommend Nevada Coin & Jewelry to everybody I know!

What inspired me to go to NV Coin and Jewelry was I was an ad on the TV for the shop. I was not too sure about going to NV Coin and Jewelry to sell my jewelry because I have been to many other pawn shops but haven’t found a good deal for my jewelry. After I went to Nevada Coin and Jewelry it was a big relief for me selling my jewelry for a good price.
